Description (last modified by )
I start a virtual machine using GUI and then use 'safestate'.
When i try to resume the virtual machine with VBoxHeadless, i run into
Error: failed to start machine. Error message: Failed to load unit 'HGCM' (VERR_SSM_UNEXPECTED_DATA)
I am still able to resume the machine using the GUI.
When i boot the machine with VBoxHeadless and use 'safestate' from commandline, i am able to resume without problems.
Might be a reoccurrence of http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/6314

Replying to sunlover:
This happens when 3D acceleration is enabled in the VM settings (Display/Video/Enable 3D Acceleration). You have to disable 3D acceleration for the VM if you want to use saved states both with GUI and VBoxHeadless.
confirmed. Thank you :) Would be nice if Virtualbox would provide your such an exact error description.
