Description
Can I use setextradata to change the guest os ip to static ip address. If not can there is some means to execute a file when the guest os start up

You are partially right, what I am thinking is when the network tap is set to “host interface mode” the IP obtain by the guest OS is from the DHCP server.
I am thinking if there is any method where, when the guest OS starts up, instead of obtaining the IP from the DHCP server, I want the guest os to use the static ip.
If I can able to do that even if my actual server crashes, I can use the hard disk back up to create the guest server, and still there will be no down time

This is a guest issue. Configure your guest to use a static IP.
I guess you are referring to NAT, is this correct? With NAT, the host IP as seen from the guest is 10.0.2.2, the guest IP is 10.0.2.15. This guest IP could be changed with SetExtraData from 10.0.2.2 to something other.
