Mouse pointer calibration issue in seamless mode
Reported by: | Mashi | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | GUI/seamless | Version: | VirtualBox 4.0.4 |
Keywords: | mouse integration calibration seamless | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Linux | Host type: | Mac OS X |
Description
When using seamless mode, the mouse becomes decalibrated, pointing around 50px directly above the cursor.
The only way that I have found to fix it is cycle the guest, but it happens again very quickly.

To reproduce:
I start the VM (windowed mode), wait for it to boot. Arrive at gnome desktop, then select Machine -> Switch to seamless mode. It goes seamless, but the guest background is still displaying. It's not the background I have set, it's just black. When I click on the menu in the gnome panel in the guest, the background goes away and I can see the host's windows. Turn seamless off then on again, it is now showing my background on top of the host desktop, I move the mouse and everything is as it should be except for the mouse calibration bug.

Interestingly, it seems that the bug does not occur when focusing on the gnome panel itself.

A bit more information about your Linux guest system would be rather helpful here, including the current /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and /var/log/Xorg.0.log. A VM log file might be useful too.
Just seen, the problem can persist after switching back to non seamless (windowed) mode.
