Description (last modified by )
I am experiencing a problem with the shift key not working when a 64-bit Windows 7 VM is placed in full screen mode? I have had this problem for quite some time and the latest release (4.0.8R71778) didn't seem to fix it. I had read somewhere that scim-bridge-client-qt, qt4, and gtk needed to be installed so I did that but the problem persists. It is also intermittent. On occasion the shift key will function properly but most of the time it does not.
Platform: Lenovo ThinkPad W510 OS: Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS, 2.6.32-32-generic

I'd like to report what may be this same issue, too. It did not start happening until I upgraded to VirtualBox 4.1.6 on Monday, November 21, 2011. (I also applied the available host & guest operating system updates that same day.)
I'm running a CentOS 5.7 x86_64 host with VirtualBox-4.1-4.1.6_74727_rhel5-1.x86_64 installed. My guest is Fedora 15 x86_64 with the 4.1.6 guest additions installed.
If my guest starts up in full screen mode and stays there, everything is fine. But if I either start or go to window mode and then change to full screen, my Shift, Ctrl & Alt keys stop working in the guest. Switching back to window mode allows them to work again.
