Description
Lack of getting a ProcessorId and Motherboard id in a Windows guest forced me to stop tests of my software development on Virtual Box. I cannot figure out why these information is not available. Is there any explanation of this issue? Is this a bug? security issue? missing feature?
Note: Tickets #5846 and #6361 points the missing ProcessorId and Motherboard issues respectively. Forum entry http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7408 also discusses this.

How change processor ID, MotherBord ID https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/17696
Of course this is not a security issue. The guest hardware is virtual, therefore the guest motherboard and the guest processor are virtual components. I doubt that the processor serial number is necessary for any guest because it can be simply disabled on every BIOS.
I guess you are talking about running a Windows which was installed on the host unmodified in a guest. VirtualBox does currently not implement all the required protocols (especially WMI). And as you already said, both the processor ID and WMI are already covered by different tickets, so I will close this one as duplicate.
