3d effects of Unity make GUI erratic

I installed the 4.0.10 update today, installed the Virtualbox guest additions paired with this update.
I run OSX Leopard with the guest being Ubuntu 11.04 desktop
When I click on any UI element or type, the action and or typing doesnt appear until it loses focus by alt+tab or clicking something else. This makes the virtual guest GUI unusable by any standard.
When I de-activate 3d acceleration in the settings the problem goes away, but Unity (launcher) is not available without 3d acceleration.

This issue should be fixed with VBox 4.3. Please try it with VBox 4.3 and 4.3 Additions, and re-open if needed, attaching a VM log file here.
