VirtualBox OSE 4.1.0+ hangs after upgrade from 4.0.8

Description (last modified by )
VirtualBox completely hangs after bios stage. I can't say where it crashes, but it stops execution and writes to VBox.log messages about RESET in loop. Any guest OS do not boot anymore, any livecd or something. This is mysterious for me, no segfaults, no any unusual behavior other than this hang, so I attach VBox.log flooded with reset messages here. I have many environments (grsecurity-enabled and bare-metal linux boxes), this was reproduced everywhere. Only one note: VirtualBox installed from source code (OSE 4.1.0). 4.0.8 and below versions are totally fine. Also a topic on forum: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=44903

If you disable hardware virtualization, does it work ?

It maybe a subject of other bugreport, but turning off hardware virtualization always leads to kernel panic on my host (3.6.37.4), or strange effects in other cases (usually one of two CPU cores disappear with kernel oopses, panics, zombies). It maybe subject to incompatibility with PaX-enabled kernel. If I will able to test VirtualBox without hardware virtualization enabled on guest on vanilla kernel, I'll give you result.

PAX kernels are not supported. Documented in User Manual "12.6.8. PAX/grsec kernels".
Can you try on standard kernel with hardware VT disabled ?

I tested on vanilla kernel without any patches (just downloaded from kernel.org mirror) - same problems and same log entries. Nothing changed. If you want, I can attach another VBox.log, but it's messages are same.

Is this problem still reproducible with VBox 4.1.8? Did you only test OSE package or did you also test the official packages from this website?
