Cannot use Driver Verifier in Windows Guest

I tried enabling driver verifier for a driver I'm developing and when I reboot the guest, the VM will start the boot process and then just reset itself - no dump, just a reset. If I boot into Safe Mode and disable driver verifier, everything works again.
Guest is Windows 2008 R2

In the meantime there were a couple of fixes related to the Windows driver verifier. Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 5.0.8.
