Description (last modified by )
The latest version of VirtualBox (4.1.6) for Mac OS (10.7.2) no longer seems to come with a host-only network configured, the result of which is that appliances (comprising an OVF and a VMDK) no longer work out of the box once imported (via File > Import Appliance). For instance, after importing http://mirror.cs50.net/appliance/2.3/cs50-appliance-2.3-6-ovf.zip, starting the imported appliance immediately triggers the error below. This did not used to happen on fresh installations of VirtualBox on Mac OS. Rather, appliances with host-only adapters worked right out of the box. The workaround is to manually create the host-only adapter, per https://manual.cs50.net/VirtualBox#Nonexistent_host_networking_interface.2C_name_.27.27_.28VERR_INTERNAL_ERROR.29.
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine CS50 Appliance 2.3.
